Hot dipping involves the power rack being dipped into molten zinc and may last up to two decades.That being said, hot-dip galvanizing a power rack can create inconsistencies. Since the layer created is fairly thick, it can cause changes to the adjustment holes and other specifics within the power rack’s framework.

Periodic Maintenance and Care
All power racks need maintenance at least once a year. But, there are plenty of approaches to ensure your power rack stays well-protected all year round. Make sure your power rack is cleaned often, as any further measures will be less effective in the presence of dirt or grime.Wipe down the power rack with mineral oil or 3-in-1 oil once a month. Thankfully, only a small amount of oil is needed to cover the entire power rack’s surface, so doing monthly wipe downs will be fairly manageable. Coating the power rack in this type of oil will repel moisture over time.
Protecting Weak Spots
One of the biggest concerns for power rack care is the areas that see the most friction and impact. You may need to do touch-ups in these areas more frequently, in between routine monthly care.Investing in high-quality attachments is one of the best ways to prevent friction from causing issues. UV rays can weaken some components as well, such as safety straps. These can be sprayed with 303 protectants to keep them strong and functional.
You can spray down the power rack’s frames and weight stack with WD-40, as this will repel chlorinated water. Interior frame coating is super handy as it’s fitted with tubes that can fit inside the power rack’s holes.To coat the interior, cover the holes with masking tape and poke a small hole in one of them. Doing this will ensure that the spray does not fall back out once it’s applied. Spray through at least a few holes to make sure you get all the inside areas.
If kept outdoors, you could drill small holes into the lowest part of the power rack’s uprights to allow excess moisture or water to drain out. Throw a tarp over your power rack when not in use, ensuring that all areas are properly covered.
